FloridaThinks invites you to be part of our discussions and to express your opinions on this site.
But first, you must register, providing your real name and location. Why? Because we allow no anonymous or pseudonymous postings on this site. All comments or columns will identify the author. That will help keep the quality of discussion at a high level. Please click here to register.
How to Participate
We offer three ways to join the discussion and express your opinion on FloridaThinks.
- At the end of every column, we provide voting buttons for sharing your reaction to the column:
- I agree.
- I disagree.
- I’m not sure yet.
Once you vote, you will be able to see how others reacted to the particular column.
- Below the voting buttons, you will find space for a tweet-length comment on the column. (Need to lock in the character count.) You can use that space to provide a brief explanation of your response to the column. Your comments will be posted automatically, along with your name and location. However, all comments will be closely monitored to ensure they conform to the editorial standards of FloridaThinks. (See Rules of Engagement.)
- If you have something more substantive to say on an issue under discussion or wish to bring a new issue to the table, you may submit your own column to FloridaThinks editors for consideration. We encourage you to do so, because we want this to be a place where many viewpoints are shared. If we think a submitted column brings something new to the discussion, we will gladly post it. Submitted columns should be 300 to 700 words in length. (For information on editorial standards for submitted columns, please see Rules of Engagement.)
